ur in my position 2 man. i no how it feels playing the guessing game cuz im in that 2 rite now. i dunno whether to go brand new built tranny out of the box with a convertor or throw a convertor in a stock trans with a cam setup alittle later an horror the day my trans blows.

well my car is getting its fourth tranny now and i only have 42000 miles on it(02 z28), im putting around 500 to the ground and i have a light stall (vig2800) but this time im having a shop build me a "built" 4l60e they are doin kevlar bands and beast sunshell and all sorts of other hop ups, but im still told that it might not take a full season of track racing... 1300 bucks and it probably wont last a whole season...stupid 4l60e's!

the only way i was told i could get real performance and reliabililty was to go with a th350 or similar setup... but than i would lose my od and i highway drive my car(when its running that is)

all im tryin to say is dont count on the stock or even near stock equipment to last, you may get lucky but i would plan for the worst, cuz any kind of power is bad power for a stocker... just my .02 cents

If you are talking about the transmission in your sig, it should handle it.

well in the winter time you wont be driving it too much so when you buy the converter i would go ahead and buy a rebuild kit for your tranny bc mine started slipping with slp LT true duals granatelli MAF, and 100 shot with bfg dr, im telling you right after you get done doing those mods and yu go and make a couple bottle passes your tranny will and i mean will start slipping especially with a torque converter but its yuor call i bought my TCI pro racing rebuild kit with stronger components to hold up to the NOS. only cost $350 for everything you need to do it. but 1 thing it doesn't come with is a 5 pinion rear planetary that is the 1 that runs 1 and 2 gear so you want 1 strong and the 5 pinion is def strong enough and you will need it leaving on the bottle or low gear bottle runs but FYI hope this helps

The nitrous will kill the stock trans faster than anything else in your sig (torque spike). My stock trans is still surviving 10K miles after the cam and header install and 20K miles after the converter install. 54K miles on the car so far but I also don't go to the track regularly, just alot of highway miles (trips from NY to FL and back).
