There will be a staple on the front side of the **** towards your dash, pry it out with a screw driver and lift up on the ****. Pretty simple but the staple can be a pain sometimes to pry loose.

Small screw driver to pry it out a little, then needle nose plyers to get it all the way out - it's easier to get to if you turn the key on, so you can pull the shifter back.
