Default It ONLY shifts DOWN!!!!

here are my test results:
With the engine off:

From Park I can move the shifter all the way to 1st and the gear selector lever on the tranny actually goes to 1st.

If the gear selector on the tranny is in 1st (and so is my shifter) I try to move it to park, the tranny will stay in 1st.

Is the shifter pushrod bent or something???

In a nutshell: It will only shift from Park -> Neutral -> OD -> 3 -> 2 -> 1st
but it wont do the opposite!

simple question!
The reason this happened is from removing the engine and pulling on the tranny
I guess I could always just leave the gear selector on the tranny in OD

Get underneath it, find the snap-clip adjuster, pull the
cable snug and snap it into place. I think the cable is
pulling one way, but you can't push on a rope (with the
jacket free to slide).

I really dont think it will ever get out of 1st. EVEN if I get under there and manually shift the shift lever!
I think I damaged it when pulling/installing the engine
My friend had this problem.. he just bought a new one

It will not get out of 1st
even if I change the gear selector lever On drivers side of the tranny

I have HP Tuners to confirm that it wont get out of 1st
