Default TH350 gearing

How many of you guys pay extra to have the 1st gear changed on your built TH350 from 2.52 to 2.75.

I have a GTO with 3.91 rear gears and I'm changing out the 4L65E that has a 1st gear of 3.06 and I'm afraid I will not have enough gear if I leave the 2.52 in the TH350.

Has anyone slowed down at the track after they swapped in a TH350 or 400 because of the gearing?

From what I have read about the gears being higher, no they didn't lose anything. I researched going TH350 and most people said save the $$ on the 2.75 gear and keep the 2.52.

Thanks for the info. That saves me about $500.
