Default Heavy towing

Does anyone know what the GM manuals say about towing ~6000 pounds with a 4L60E? I still have the tow haul mode active, and it has 100% of the factory torque management in tow/haul mode. Do I want to be towing in drive or overdrive?

Also what temperature is the point where I want to watch out at, I have a large cooler and a gauge and the temp has never gone above 170 degrees yet.

Default heavy towing

Towing 6000 pounds with the factory 4l60e is pushing a little but as long as its infrequently and mostly on flat ground at highway speeds it should be ok , You biggest risk are frying the lockup clutch ,burning the band or 3-4 clutch , or tearing through the band pin ,
As for drive or overdrive thats debatable , I tow in overdrive but them I have the Zpack and the sonax od servo along with a band with a reinforce pin area and have no problems

How about trans temps, what temp is ideal for me to run at, and what temp is the upper limit?
