Default Gear Vendor

ALright.. I'm coming over to the dark side for sure. I'm scrapping my T56 for a th400. This car will be a "street" car, but I'm trying to get the max potential out of it while keeping it still friendly as possible on the street. Should I get the gear Vendor overdrive?? How would it effect the racing potential of the car? Would it effect street racing? drag? I obviously know it would be better for putting around on the street, but I am concerned it will hurt my racing somehow. The car is a 391 LS2 T88 turbo. Expecting to put down 1000rwhp on race gas. 750-850rwhp on low boost and pump tune.

I would say no. If you are looking at a TH400 + GV, look at a 4L80E instead.

th400+gv is a different animal than a 4l80e. The gv unit basically turns your 3 speed tranny into a 6 speed. You can use the overdrive in any gear so you could shift like 1-->1od-->2-->2od-->3-->3od. Pretty cool stuff, although like said it's pretty heavy on the wallet as well as the car.

The blue truck on their front page is running one of their 4L80E's and is in the same power range as you, if not more.

I really want to go MVB. I got the BS3 w/out tranny control with the plans of getting a RMVB tranny.
