built transmission....=boom
tonight she let go on me. it was my second run with the new cam. first run all I did was spin the 60 to a 1.93. my second pass i hooked up good (was probably low 1.6's) and when i shifted it into drive she banged and lost going into all gears. does this sound like a pump or converter issue? I still have warranty on this but it all still sucks.

well i talked to the trans builder and he's thinking its pump or converter. sometime next week when i get it up i the air ill run it with the return line disconencted and see if it's pumping. either I broke the converter hub or the pump is toast. he's thinking it's the converter. I'm hoping for that.

two problems.... well after hooking up HP tuners I could see that the trans input shaft isnt getting anything, so the converter isnt engaging that. but the trans also rolls in park or any other gear and the speedometer doesnt move when i rev the motor. any ideas? I cant get ahold of my trans builder right now

if just the converter went bad could i still lose park? is there any way that the transmission is actually in park when it's locked down to the motor? tomorrow night I'll hopefully see something

Maybe you broke the converter to flywheel bolts that would explain why you lost park and have no input shaft movement. It is unlikely but possible and easy to check by pulling the inspection covers.

I don't believe that this is true. The parking paul engauges directly to the rear ring gear which is splined to the output shaft. Broken tc bolts will not cause this. The only other thing that might cause this is a broken rear end but you should have a vss signal if this were the case. Vince.

well my builder had asked if it was a broken rear end. but no noise was made when it broke other than what it sounds like to hit the rev limiter. the car still pushes around fine. i should be removing the trans tonight and I'll find out more of what's going on. if nothing is obvious theres nothing I can do with it but let the builder handle it. thanks
