my tranny's acting up! i have a stock 4L60E in my car and only mods is Maganflow cat-back and rims. on my way home i was travelling about 45mph and my car went into overdrive which is normal, but when i tried to speed up it wouldnt let me, id give it gas and it sounded like it was governed or something and wouldnd shift down to third. i wasnt passing anyone jus tpushed the gas lightly to speed up a bit so i coasted to a corner and put my car in nutral and i noticed it squeeked a bit over bumps, i donno if that has anything to do with it but, when i put it back into drive the rpms went way low like to 500 and was almost at a stalling point. after that the car ran fine. my dad thought there might be water in the gas but i just filled it with 91 octane at a shell station. i was thinking of getting some fuel stabilizer to absorb the water if there is any,but i donno if that`would help. ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Any codes or check engine lights? What does the fluid look like? Is it full...because someone else is going to ask this!!! Sounds like you could have a trans problem but we need a little more info to help you!!!! WTF guy's might not be your best way to ask for advice. LOL

sorry, i was just a lttle frustrated. no SES codes or engine lights and i will check my fluid level tongiht. thanks so much for helping so far!

checked the fluid and its all good, i drove it all day today and it didnt act up but i wasnt on the highway to get it into overdrive, the furthest it god was to third so..
