Which clutches are the best for a 4l60e?
I recently purchased a street strip rebuild kit from pro built. I took this kit to a local transmission builder. He has a good reputation. He looked at the kit and said that it was mostly just a bunch of stock stuff. He wants me to order a performance pack that contains "blue plate special clutches" and a "z-pack". He also wants me to get a billet race servo instead of the vette servo. He also says that I need to get a stronger input drum if I go above 500 hp. I am currently at around 450 rwhp.
What do you think about what he is saying? I have noticed that Rock-On, Pro-Built, FLT, as well as others are using the Borg Warner clutches. I don't think he is trying to take advantage of me. Tell me what you think about this?

On mine when I rebuilt it I put in a heavy duty drum u can see a big differance, the stock is .120 thick and the heavy duty is .187, double bushing on the one gear, vette servo but I kinda wished I used billet but the vette servors are ok,13 vain pump w/harden springs, red alto clutches w/ kevlar band, and the 3-4 clutch pack that made a world differance. plus the .490 boost valve, I have about 18,000 miles so far and no problems.

well, blue plates are for race only applications and have terrible release. if you use them they hold the most amount of power of any clutch out there but have terrible feel when you make 3-2 downshifts, ive tried it. if you have good pressure the borg or raybestos high energy (that is a fancy name for kevlar with other stuff mixed compound are very good for street strip)
