It is worth it in my book! I do build them both with the mod and the epc. I do prefer the vac mod setup but that's just my 2cents!

The pcm lowers and raises line preasure for more reasons than just throttle position , It monitors temperature , converter slip % and shift error times and ajust preasure acordingly ,A vacume modulaor defeats its ability to do that ,

That of course makes sense - but has the problem been for most people a lack of ability to know how to make adjustments through tuning for the pcm control, and the vac mod has just made that job easier (by bypassing the pcm control of line pressure)? Not many (including me) really know how the pcm really affects the line pressure well enough that they can achieve the same results through tuning as they can with the vac mod.

I can understand the programing issue As for how it works it pretty simple really , its and electronic valve that vents presure by cycling on and off and varying speeds.
But I can definatley understand why that might be a difficult setting to make in programing , So what we do is turn the torx screw in the center 1/4 turn clockwise , which basically shortens the open time by applying more force to the return this causes and across the board 4-6 psi increase , Yet the pcm is not the wiser so it continues with normal control as if there has been no change this works well increases all apply presures and even lockup is improved with no fear of solinoid flooding which can happen when you raise the presure by other means ,
