Default there's a vibration through the car

its wierd right before the tranny went out last there was a huge vibration in the dash and throughout the car. now i had the tranny rebuilt by a guy named keith at transmission and performance specialist inc. in stoneham massachusetts (sp) did a nice clean job and he was recommended by slowhawk which this guy also does most of dez racingings transmissions. i got the car back and for some reason right as the converter locks up at 45mph it has that same vibration from 45 to roughly 53mph i have no idea what it is and its really bothering me.its only when it first locks up also

are there any ideas of what it could be? any reccomendations would be great!!!!

thanks
david

There are several possibilites . You could have and engine miss in that pm range , or it could be converter chatter ,Converter chatter can happen when the clutch isnt fully worn in or when its going bad , But also it can happen it the bushings in the pump stator and or the input shaft has to much wear ,and lastly the oring on the input shaft could be torn damaged or worn wouldnt be the first time it has ever been forgotten , But short of a engine miss (you can actually check that by reving the engin slowly to the rpm range you feel that in while in park and feel carefully for a miss )But more than likley its will be a converter issue ,A nother way to test the converter would be to very lightly place your foot on the brake just enough to bring the brake lights on but not to slow or stop you , This will prevent the converter from locking up , accelerate tot he speed where this occurs . does it happen , If not its most certainly converter related ,

Also if the vibration is still there when coasting down it's the driveshaft or it's pinion angle. An adustable torque arm elimnated all my driveline vibrations. It's best to check this in 3rd gear.

i think it is a miss because it started happening around 80 today when i was just cruising on the highway and it started shaking again and also it got really jumpy like studering to move it didnt want to and you had to give it alot of gas and its hard to explain it but i gave it alot of gas and it seemed the car didnt even want to move so im guessing it has a bad miss because it also started popping through the exaust a little to. so can a miss also cause the car to start shaking and vibrating to the point it feels like the car is gonna fall apart? because if it is that is what i really think it is?

any more idea's would be great

thanks

you hear about stock rockers breaking with the TF heads? are you runnin stock rockers..i would just pull the plugs and look at them first.. and if there fine hook up a scanner or do a compression test...im sure it isnt converter related sence you went with a new on after the rebuild. and it was doin it b4 the rebuild..how do you like the vig. compaired to the yank?

i have to say i like the vigalante alot more than the yank because it is alot more streetable and it is still a 3800stall and it still footbreaks where i want it to about like 2400rpm without a problem and it is alot tighter and is alot better.
