Default 4400 Stall Converter

I have a 99 Camaro with a built 4L60E trans with a 3600 stall right now and i was wondern if i got a 4400 stall if my car would still be streetable or not. And could i still take it on the expressway to go up north a few times a year. I am just wondern cause when i am at the track i can only foot brake my car to 2,000 RPM's to launch but if i had a bigger stall i would think that i could rev it a little higher to launch. Let me know if i would waste my money or am i thinkng close to the right idea.

Thanks,

Travis

Yeah i have a ford nine inch with 4.10 gears right now with a Detroit Locker. But i was wondern if that higher stall would help. How many RPM's can you rev your car up to IMPORTSLAYER before you launch or take off?

Thanks,
Travis

A 4400 is just as streetable really. Obviously it slips a little more, but I think any lock up converter is streetable. And when going on those long road trips, it would be exactly the same, because it's going to be locked up for most of your trip. I dd my Yank PT4200 with 4.10's, I don't think it's extreme at all.

I have the Yank PE4200 with 3.70s and it daily drives great! Now it does slip a little more than my old vig3200 but when it locks at 40 it drives awesome. The gears do make a big difference in how the converter drives and feels. With my old 3.23s, it would slip real high and it seemed like it would take forever before it locked up. But with 3.70s it's like the motor does less work to get up to speed. I wouldn't switch to any lower of a stall unless it was for a supercharger or a lot of nitrous.
