How efficient are these converters? It seems that the higher stall you get in a 4l60e converter the more inefficient they get. I would love to get a 5500 that would be efficient up top like the ATI 5500 ones the guys run in the TH350/TH400's. Presently I have a 4800 and it looses 47-48hp on the dyno going from locked to unlocked so I know I'm leaving some ET & MPH on the table.

Do you make a converter with that high of a stall that hits hard off the line and is efficient like the ATI 5500?

Yikes, that is a huge power loss.

What are your cam specs that 5300 stall makes sense?

Yes, more than one company makes them. The ones that are good are really really expensive though.

Over the years in dyno testing converters for the 4l60-e and LS-X motor combos we have found that any converter over 4600 stall will show a big loss on the chassis dyno as the time to collect data is so short, that you get false reporting, as the turbine and pump do not have time to allow for them to reach there coupling phase of operation,
a lot of gear to reduce the work load (4.33 up) will help

Nhra stock class run LS-1 powered cars have 4.56 to 4.88 and a stall in the 5500 range with the help of a close ratio non lock-up transmission to keep the RPMs up after the shift and Efficiency in the 89 to 94% range at the end of run
