Shift Speeds
Was curious as to what shift speeds I should get my car tuned too. I just had a new tranny installed (RPM - Thanks Rodney and Co.) and when I get the car tuned wanted to be able to tell the tuner I would like the shift speeds (mph) to be dialed in at...
Thanks,
Micah

That is kinda tricky to say. what size tire you run, gear size, etc...
It will also depend on what your shift RPM is at. The MPH cant be set higher then what your MPH is really at that RPM. It takes some logging and testing to find out. The tuner will take care of it

On paper (online calculator) .. w/ 3:23's, 4L60E and 25.5" tires .. I have my shift points at 6150 @ 47mph(1-2), 5800 @ 85mph (2-3) and 6150 142+mph (3-4).
The tuner can set your shift points by rpm or mph. Your mph at a given rpm is the result of your combinations and will change with if you change any of the three factors (trans., gear or tire diameter). This is assuming no trany slip or converter issues.
The most recent and significant info. I've picked up on (from Transgo staff) is that the 4L60E is weak at the 2-3 shift and the closer to 5500rpm you shift, the longer those clutches will last. Hence, my lower shift points @ 2-3.
