Wow, Auto is just not looking like a winner!
There are more goddamn psts on this board about auto related problems, and such, that m6 problems. I am thinkin, or was, of switching to a 400 but after reading the first three or four pages of this auto forum I have been leaning toward just going with that Gforce and 2step... I mean, i only wanted to get an auto cuz i have realized it will be better on leaving, but i dont think so much now. I would rather row through my gears and hope when a little Italian or Jap comes creepin I dont miss a gear, or grind. I dont have a prob;lem with auto, at all, but it seems like alot of other guys do. Do i have any objections????

i would have to agree that they can be built and have been for years, but unfortunantly the bad news travels and the good doesn't. so just look for a reputable builder and talk to some of their customers before going auto. I have a friend in the same corner right now, but we've pulled his m6 about 7-8 times so far and talking him into the auto is getting so much easier for the race car he's building. just my 2 cents. so make up your mind and

It definately depends on who builds it. At least as far as the TH350/400s are concerned. I lost faith in the 60E and still don't think anyone can build them to withstand the abuse.
I have one of Rosslers TH400s in my 94 and I finally have a tranny I can rely on. Very happy with his transmission.

I have had bad luck with an auto tranny twice. First was the stocker, which did last 55k miles and dozens of low 12 second passes. Can I complain about it? Hardly since it was a stock trans and was with an aftermarket stall for 25k miles.
Now, my second trans was the max evil III. Felt great but took a dump at 6k easy miles. No where near the stock trans and also treated much better with only 15 or so track passes. I found out later that the band that broke was a major problem and actually recalled by raysbestos.
Now I'm running the FLT level IV. Won't get a chance to run it this year but I'm hoping it well outlasts the dr evil paperweight.
