Default Need lauching tips

OK, I went to the track a few weeks ago and ran a best of 12.73@106. My 60ft was 1.8, 1/8 8.1@85. I used the stall it to around 2000 rpms and nail the gas method. The weather was in the 60s and track prep was excellent, I did not spin on MT ET Streets. Here's where it gets weird. BEFORE the stall on street tires on 60 degree weather I ran a best of 12.8@108 with a 2.0 60 and 8.3@86 1/8. I've also ran a 12.81@104 on street radials with a 8.1@85 1/8 in humid 85 degree weather with a 1.8 60ft. Should I be running better? Is my driving the problem? Somehow I think I should be at least running 12.5 or better. Driving tips?

If your best runs before and after the stall only differ by .07 secs, then I would have to say Yes, something is wrong. Usually you will see a much better gain after acquiring a stall.

I must say tho, I don't think it is your driving, considering you ran a 12.8 with a muffler, cutout, and free mods.

I consider myself a decent driver. However, I may be to blame somewhat conidering it was my first time at the track with ET Streets and a stall. Should I have just stabbed it from the start and not reved to 2000 and then matted the gas? Honestly, I was concerned with breaking the 10 bolt. Should a 1.6 or 1.7 60ft get me where I need to be?

Hell, I stall mine up to 3000 and give it hell when the third yellow drops. Look at my 60' in sig. That's with ET Street DR's on salad shooters in the back, and stock snowflakes in the front, not skinnies. No spin whatsoever.

Not to seem like a jerk, but stall it up and give it hell. Grow some *****. If the ten-bolt breaks it breaks. You play, you pay.

This is coming from someone who drag races his daily-driven car. If I break it, I have to walk.

You know what they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Get those tires hot and nail the gas...

I pull way better 60s on a mt drag radial than a mt street because the radial has the same tire compound but with less sidewall flex so ur car wont walk as much going down the track try the radial and watch ur 60s get better!

What I did when I had the stock 10 bolt I would hold the brake an bring the rpms all the way up until I was about to loose traction, then when that 3rd yellow came on I would let off the brake and punch the gas. I always thought that would be better than just flashing it for the 10 bolt. I pulled 1.6 60ft all day long with Nitto's DR &10 bolt
