Question torque converter??

well i bought a 00 trans am this past weekend and i think it has a stall, it has a sticker that says precision industries under the hood. when i stall the car it stalls all the way up 2 like 2100 and then starts spinng the tires( didnt do a burnout to heat up tires, street tires also), when i floor it from a dead stop it just starts to peel out and i go but go sideways, what do u guys think? What do average stock converter a4's stall up 2?

thanks in advance to all of yall!

Sounds like you got one in your car...now to figure out what stall it is.

Congrats, now you don't have to buy one.

i can only stall mine up to 1500rpm before it will start spinning and i have BFG drag radials. so i would say that you prob have a 3000 stall or maybe a 2800!!

Pull the little inspection cover from the bottom of the tranny bellhousing and you can get a glimpse of the converter. Aftermarket converters will be smaller and painted (pink I think if it's from PI). To find out what the true stall speed is you'll probably have to hook up scanning software to find the flash point.

Nope. It's just a ~1.5" circlular window to allow you to look at the converter without dropping the tranny.
