transmission interchangeability
Got an odd question to ask, but I figured this would be the best place to find the answer...
Had a friend just blow the trans in her '98 Camaro this morning. It has a 3.8 in it and a 4L60E.
I have access to a recently rebuilt 4L60E from a '97 Z/28 (car got wrecked, so we'd have to yank it out)....
Originally, I was trying to find out if these are interchangeable... after some research, as I suspected, the V-6 uses the small bellhousing pattern as opposed to the larger GM V-8 pattern... then the topic of interchangeable bellhousings came up...
Is it correct that the '93-'97 4L60E's have non-interchangeable bellhousings, while '98-up do?
Looks like this idea will not work out for us at all... any ideas where to find a good used trans for a V-6 car?
Thanks in advance for any help, I know its a little off topic of the normal high performance trans stuff, but its hard to find information like this...
