Default Torque converter allignment help!

Just finisheing installing a vig 3200 stall, We are having problems alligning the transmission to torque converter. Trans needs about an inch to seat to the motor.
Any comments?

you mean to say that the TQ converter is touching the crankshaft and flywheel and that the trans is at least a good inch away ?? if so the TQ converter isn't in the pump all the way. if the converter is a inch away from the flywheel with the trans bolted up then you just need to pull it out a bit that is all.-

The tc needs to be installed into the trans before trying to bolt the trans to the motor. After the motor/trans are bolted up then you can bolt up the tc. The tc should click in three times and spin freely wonce the trans is bolted to the motor.

The key is making sure you're seated on the pump all the way, turn and push you should feel it go on.

Ended up dropping the tranny and converter all at once. Realigning everything and it just slid in.
