Default Another Yank Vs. Vig thread

I kno theres an on going question of "should I go Yank Or Vig?" I have a fuddle 3200 and its just too tight for me. I 've asked a couple of my friends and on other forums about which should I go with, and everyone with a Yank says go Yank and evey with a Vig says go Vig. Is there anyone who has had both brands? Now from what I've read, I hear that Vig's stalls about 400 rpm above their rating. I want something that some were around a 4000 stall. So I guess that means a Vig3600 or an SS4000. Which one is more effiicient up top? I here all good thing about both but I dont want to get one and then say I should have gotten the other. I already made that mistake once with my Fuddle.

I have a Vig 3200, and using HPTuners and TCI's TC Slip calculator, mine is roughly 92% efficient at 6000rpms.

buy either with confidence. I think the yanks are a bit tighter and the Vig are a bit looser for a given rated stall but i have never seen anyone unhappy with either.

Vigs tend to generate more heat than the Yank from what I'm told. Could explain my high temps.

Im really leaning toward the Yank SS4000. I just wanna kno how the SS4000 is going to affect my MPH. I see it has a 2.6STR compared to my 2.1STR Fuddle.

I have both. Vig 3600 in a 4l60e and Yank 4500 in th400

i like them both equally, the vig runs sooo smooth (compared to a fuddle 3800, no name 3000 all in the same car before) and the vig is a little looser (which to me sounds cooler).

I say whichever you pick you will be happy with, and money might be an issue.

Something else to check out-- PerformaBuilt is newcomers here and I have been seeing excellent results with everyone using them, and their customer service is top notch he is ALWAYS there!

Yank SS3600 here picked up 3mph and .5 e/t with no other changes. Never used a vig but verry happy with my Yank. I am also using a Yank TT3000 in my 2004 Sierra and it also gets two thumbs up

Because I hear fuddle's arent very efficient up top, that might explain why my mph is in the toilet. My fuddle feels too tight and the best 60ft I could muster with M/T ET radails is a 1.71 hookin.

Too tight should equal more mph up top?????

Just curious because my buddy with a 550-600hp turbo camaro runs a fuddle 3500 in his car and is very happy. He was cutting 1.5s leaving with NO BOOST because his tires would just smoke with any boost.

I have a fuddle 3800.. the yank and the vigilante feel MUCH better.

Now the fuddle is 1/2 the price, but.... it depends what you are looking for

Thats what I was thinking at first with it being on the tight side but my MPH sucks. I should be in the 114 mph range. I donno, maybe Its just I want a Yank over a fuddle. The only reason I went with fuddle was because money was tight and fuddle's price was just right at the time. I did read a thread awhile back about a guy that switch yank to fuddle and went slower.

For NA I was always a fan of the Yank TP series. The TP4500 for a max effort car or a TP4000 for a car that sees a lot of street time.

Vig and Yank are both great brands with great customer service. Sometimes i've heard vig refered to as the poor mans yank. That being said i've had my vig3200 for 30k miles without one single issue, no trans temp problems either.
