Default torque converter preparation

i finally ordered a converter,, fuddle 3400 @ 2.1 str,, and am just wondering what else needs to be done to the car if anything for it to run correctly. I also ordered a B&M tranny cooler so my transmission doesn't catch on fire..I wouldn't need to get the speedo adjusted as if I were swapping gears would I? and it's my understanding that the ls1 edit or a tune is optional. i should be installing the parts in 2-3 weeks and i'm stoked as hell to wake up my auto, since we all know auto's aren't real sports cars.......can't wait till the next time I hear "too bad it's an automatic"

If the car is an 01 or 02 you'll probably really want a tune to take car of tq. managment, but the other years don't have as much of an issue with that.

i got the same converter and the only thing i needed to change (besides adding a cooler) was the idle speed. alot of times in reverse the RPMs would dip low enough to stall out. havent heard of that problem alot but it is such a minor issue people probably dont even mention it...

my 1/8th time dropped by half a second and my 60ft dropped by almost 3 tenths, all on street tires, i can probably get DRs and run a 1.6x 60ft. on the street the car is a monster, kinda miss the thrust though because it just wants to spin. but from a roll its just a beast...

i would say the tune is mandatory unless you don't want the car to perform as intended. i have a vig3200, before tune/after tune big difference in performance. it felt almost the same but when you're counting down to tenths of a second it makes a huge difference.
