Default How much did TCI SSF 3500 help you?

How much quicker did it make you in the quarter mile? Also, did you notice it feel like it was slipping a little bit when driving around normally? Finally, when you get on it, does it feel like a hesitation until it gets to the 3500 rpm mark for a second? The last 2 questions may just be characteristics of stall converters ... I havent had one in so long!

Went from 13.3's to consistant 12.8's with only change being a 3500 stall... Mods were TSP Lid/K&N Filter/Loudmouth... I no longer have an 4L60E, and no new track times...

I gained .6 when i had a lid catback 2.73 gear. The "symptoms" you describe sound normal. You forgot roasting tires LOL

I was so worried about this when I first got it but then when I drove it after the converter went in I was like:

"WTF was all the fuss about."

Not noticeable enough for me to worry about.

It's a little loose as any 3500 stall would be. But it's all about how you drive it. For example when I had the stock stall I would leave a light at 1/4 throttle and lightly accelerate until I got to my desired speed. For a stock stall this felt tight and adequate. With a TCI 3500 under the same 1/4 throttle it does feel "sluggish" and I do notice the converter slippage. But when I accelerate at say 1/2 throttle the car moves much better and once again feels relatively tight and adequate.

by altering my driving style to be more liberal with the gas pedal I have gotten to the point where my car feels normal without me even thinking about it. And as a plus the car feels much greater under WOT. As a minus I do spend more money at the gas pump. But you gotta pay to play I guess

very nice guys! I am running regular street tires though - is that what you all did to get your .5-.6 off your times or did you get stickier tires too?

You need the sticky tires ... without them I gained .25, with them over .7 ... your 60' can't improve if you can't hook.

Definately with the sticky tires. I was 13.2 on street tires/stock stall and went to a solid 12.6 on Nittos/TCI 3500. My best is 12.4 so for that run I was .8 faster

my under-geared pig will feel like it bogs or i guess hesitates if i roll into the throttle. if i stab it it hits hard and doesn't hesitate at all.
