Default 4L60E thread to end all debate!!!

Okay guys there are a lot of threads with a bunch of opinion only about the 4l60e with experience being with stock or crappy rebuilds.

In this thread please post only if you had a built 4l60E (not some backyard BS that failed).

With that being said guys please keep the BS about "4l60e's are garbage" out of this thread.

Please list the following:

1)Who built the tranny/what model

2)What mods and power were you producing and n/a or FI.

3)Street use only or heavy track use with slicks, 60ft. times, etc.

4)did it fail or not and if so at what power level and what mileage.

5)how heavy is the raceweight of the car it was being ran in

6)What RPM did you shift the tranny at

Again guys please keep the BS OUT of this thread.

1. Cahall Performance Transmissions
2. Mods, see sig - 380rwhp N/A unlocked on MD. Car also has 150 shot.
3. Driven 4-5 days/week - "abusive" street driving, and mild track use with DRs - 1.61 60' N/A
4. No failure yet. 14 months and 8000 miles on rebuild.
5. 3700lb raceweight.
6. 6600RPM shiftpoint.

Might want to edit your post to include 60' times if applicable...

And this post, no matter how thorough, will NEVER end any debate.

i suggest, to the OP, you also edit your post to ask how long they have been running their transmissions if they haven't blown up yet. it sounds great to hear a 4L60E holding up with H/C/FI setups, but holding up for 6 months and 5,000 miles is a lot different than 4 years and 50,000 miles.

And how many non-4L60E automatic transmissions do you see withstanding H/C/FI setups for 4 years 50K miles? Even built 400s rarely see that. And to that I'll add my other car, the 85 Z28 which has a 700r4, which is basically the same as the 4L60E

1.Darrell Young Transmissions 700r4
2. Mods in sig (ran an AFR headed solid roller motor for 3 years - currently has mods in sig), car also has 100 shot
3. Daily driven for 4 years, dozens of passes. No problems after 8 years and 90K miles of abuse.
4. No problems whatsoever.
5. 3460 raceweight.
6. 6100RPM

a whole hell of a lot. many people with heads and cam or forced induction daily drive their cars. there are many H/C and FI guys with over 100,000 miles in their car. who says all H/C or FI cars are simply run at the track? throwing on heads and/or a cam shouldn't make your car undriveable as a daily driver.

I'm not for A4's or TH400's. My only question is how in the hell do you put 50k miles on a 3spd car anyway??? With 4.10 gears they're almost undriveable on the highway. Sorry for not having any worthwhile info to contribute...I'm just considering an A4 conversion sometime in the future and am also interested in how far people are pushing them. Because I also value driving my car on the interstate or to the beach...

How well are the Raptor stage 3 or 4 4L60's holding up for people???
