Driveshaft for 700R4 trans
My car had a T-56 in it before I made the switch to my BBC and 700R4. My question is will my T-56 driveshaft work on the 700R4 trans? If not will a driveshaft for a 4ll60e version work for me. I haven't tried the driveshaft yet but I was thinking about this at work and wanted to see what kind of input I got on this issue. I don't want to take a chance of messing the output shaft on the trans up.

T-56 driveshafts, 4l60E and 700R4 driveshafts in 3rd and 4th gens are the same length. Unless you moved the engine position from stock location, you'll be fine.
I'd say jack the car up by the rear axle and get under there to see if it fits!! Should slide into the trans about 3"+ and then slip back about an inch to fit into the pinion yoke. Goodluck!

if it does not work it is easy to replace. go the the junk yard find a large car like a crown vic. take the shaft to a clutch shop and have them cut it, balance and weld ends on. total cost about 125. got mine out of a police cruiser a nice big aluminum one.
