At WOT tranny sticks in 1st and shifts to 3rd when you let off
A friends Vette is having a problem with shifting. I don't think its going in to 2nd at all, even if you do it manually. But when he puts it in drive and floors it, the car will not shift to 2nd, rather it will just stay in 1st and bounce off the limiter until you let off, then it will go in to 3rd. Any ideas?

Sounds like a tuning issue to me. If it hits 2nd at part throttle or anything but WOT then I am confident it's a tune issue.
Did this just start out of the blue one day or did he make engine mods, change gears or have someone tune it? Doesn't sound like an ordinary failure to me... when it hits "3rd" are you sure it's 3rd. If not you need to be sure... meaning get a scanner on it and find out some facts. There is allot of information to be learned from communicating with the PCM!

That problem started when he started racing and spraying a 200 shot. He uses Nitto DRs. He did not do any gear changes, and I don't think he's getting 2nd at all because when we attempt to put it in 2nd, its the same as putting it in 3rd, almost as if 2nd isn't there. Part trottle feels like you just put it from first into 3rd or 4th.
