You most likely have a 3-4 clutch failure. My trans just did the same thing.

Just disconnecting the battery won't reset the PCM. (unless your setup is different with the swap)

Turn key on, don't start car
Pull PCM BATT and PCM IGN fuses in engine compartment
Wait 5-10 min
Turn ignition off
Replace fuses

My car (not me. lol!) has gone into "limp mode" a couple times. It's worth a try resetting PCM.

The revs like is in neutral means there is a mechanical failure of the 3-4 clutch pack

There´s no doubt, your tranny is dead.

You will need to full reparation, so please, dont just replace 3rd and 4th discs, replace the entire kit and full reparation.

Check the pump and all pieces to correct oil pressure so dont broke again your trany soon.

the 4l60e when built right will perform very well. the 4l80e is going to add more weight to your drive line.

im sure one of the fine transmission vendors on this site are able to built a good performing 4l60e with a warranty to boot. Just make sure you take the right preemptive steps to make sure your tranny lives a long life.
