Default tranny help

I have a 2000 camaro ss with an auto. Every gear shift fine except when it shifts from 2nd to drive it hits the rev limiter 8 out of 10 times. We went in and adjusted the shift points and still does the same thing. Any help would be great.... the car has 65000 miles on it

Do you mean 2-3? Not 2-D? What size converter and what shift points & rev limiter? I had the same issue with my car and fixed it tonight. I have a 4500 converter and had all of my shift points set at 6000 with the rev limiter set at 6500. I banged the 2-3 rev limiter as well. I dropped the 2-3 shift point via HP Tuners to 5100 and now it is shifting at 6200 without hitting the rev limiter. I am going to drop it down another 200 to see if I can get it right at 6000. Try that and see if it helps.

if you have tried lowering the shift and rpm times, And it still does it , then its possible your 3-4 clutch is failing

Stock gear and tire size? If so, what is the VSS set at? Lower the shift point for the 2-3 to 5000 and see if it helps.

It won't necessarily shift at that rpm. Look at mine. I have it set at 5100 and it shifts at 6200. Give it a try, it's not like you are gonna hurt the car by lowering the shift point.

I would try what MATT said and lower the shift point , Many times people fail to realize that there can be considerable delay between the electrical command for the shift and the mechanical reality of the shift, moving parts take time to move in to position and the 2-3 shift in particular has alot more going on than the other shifts
