Default flywheel question

I have a knocking noise in my motor, I thought I broke a spring but they all looked good. then I remebered a guy at a tranny shop said I had a little chutter when you turn the car over so I put the valve train back and turned it over and you can here the noise really good if you get down by the back side of the passenger tire. do you guys think my flywheel could be bad? the motor wasn't missing on idle and the oil was good. if you think it is the flywheel what one should I put in my car? the only other thing I can think of is that I spun a rod or something, that would be bad

the ear on the starter broke off and was traped inside where the TC is, it also craked the flywheel, flexplate whatever you want to call it. talk about a horriable sound, i thought I spun a rod or something. well it is a good reason to throw in the stall I got for christmas , new flexplate, bolts, starter, stall, shift kit, cooler, and filter/fluid.
