4l60e rebuild cost?
I just bought an S10 with a blown 4l60e. I am getting ready to have it rebuilt, but am curious what folks have paid to have it done. I'd assume price should be comparable regardless of what the tranny came out of. I know there are differences but price shouldn't vary.
Looking for prices on a complete rebuild including parts, torque converter, and labor.
My truck is a 96 4x4.
Thanks.

i wouldnt really count this when someone wants to know how much it cost to rebuild a 4l60e. Sounds like a friend gave you a VERY good deal!

performabuilt posted in another thread about the valve in the pump sticking after its hot. We changed that valve too I think, if its the valve that has that ridiculous teflon gasket that you have to warm up and stretch to get onto the valve and into the groove.
Only other thing we can think of is a worn valve body and fluid is getting by the checkballs when warm.
Oh well, it won't be in my car too much longer anyway.
