Default How many use a Pro Stick for a DD???

I'm going to be using one on a Th400 and wanted to know how it drives... I'm going to be using it on a RMVB and wanted some feedback on how user friendly it is... Also, if you have any pics installed in a 98-02 interior I would really appreiciate it... Thanks, Chris

if you have a T Brake you have to have a manuel valve body.Cant be any worse than having a 6spd.What are you guys using for shifters.Thats all I lack.I was thinking about a quarter stick

I like the quarter stick but when I started playing with it I didn't like it as well as I did the Pro stick...With the quarter stick you have to pull the handle to get into first, then pull it for second, and then you don't have to pull it for third...You can possibly pull it from first to third if you're not careful if you're running a RMVB... That's why I chose the Pro Stick... With the Pro Stick you have to pull the handle to get into first, then just pull back to get into second, and then pull handle to get into third...I prefer that much more because of the added security of not overshifting...

Hey man, I just asked a similar question in my thread that you've been chiming in on. I was looking around...I will be doing the same thing...driving around with a pro shifter. I think I'm leaning toward the B&M Pro Ratchet shifter.

I really like that shifter also, it's just I hear that a gated shifter is better to go with for a mainly track setup... I really like both of them though and you can't go wrong with either one of them... You and I are both going through almost identical situations right now... I can't wait to get her back on the road...I just got the Procharger on and the damn tranny puked on me... I want to do this so that I can concentrate on the engine and I'm also going back home to Oklahoma in April and want to take it to the dragstrip...I want to get some consistent Et's so that I know what I have to contend with and what I have to change...If i can't bear with the Rpm's I'll just put in a Gear Vendors eventually anyways so that I can street drive it easier...
Thank you everyone for your input... Goodluck Zeus!!!

98turbls1....If your coming from a T-56 to a TH400 like myself, I have been reading up on this and many people love the way the B&M Pro Ratchet fits in the 6-speed console. I'm not sure how concerned you are on cosmetics, and I know your leaning toward the gated style shifter. Just thought it was a little extra info.

I'm gonna go with a Yank SS4000e I think. It seems to fit the ramp on my cam pretty well. My goals....low 9's on the LS1....eventually. Still ALOT of work. I have spray going in as well with the new tranny. Every thing I've done so far is listed on the 2nd page on the car domain link in my sig.

Another thing I like about the ratchet style, you can buy a CO2 kit and push a button to shift the car.

yeah I'm still in for about another year or so... I'm at Pendleton and as you guessed in the Marine Corps... Where are you at in the dirt??

So are you trying to get 9's with spray??? i'm trying to get there on my SC alone but if I need spray then so be it...

That would be cool if I could shift with a button but honestly I just want to KNOW what gear it is at all times... To each their own though... I did a lot of surfing on my off time when I was there too... Honestly I would have went totally nuts if I didn't have Tech when I was there... =)

The AOR is about as much as I'm allowed to say. I will be shooting for 10's with the spray. I still have stock heads, internals, and bottom end, so I don't plan on spraying much more than a 100 shot until I get the inside built.

downshifting isnt a problem i have never downshifted from 3rd to 1st on accident, it clicks in pretty hard, Ive had it for a couple of years and its still tight. keep in mind with a th-350 and th-400 i believe you are suppose to keep some load on the drivetrain while downshifting

So you're saying that you should keep it a partial throttle while downshifting??
