Default MVB and Converters Question

If you go with a manual valve body on either a 4L60 or 4L80 can you use a Lock up converter?

Do they even sell manual valve bodies for the 60 or the 80? I know rossler makes a TB, I dont think they make one, Because the 60E and 80E are both electronically controlled. I dunno maybe FLT or one of the sponsors can chime in and give a better response

yes either can be set up as a manulvalve body unit its rare in the 4l60e but comon with the 4l80e I think transgo may make the kit for the 4l60e I know they do the 4l80e , As for lockup it can be used with a manual valve body but again would have to be setup manual and probably would be a pain since if you came to a stop and forgot it you would stall engine or if you got to slow in a highr gear it would chug and or slip the converter clutch and eventually burn it up

couldnt you just wire up the lock up to something like a switch or something so you can lock/unlock it at will?

I don't want to do that. I'm not the kind of person that would think of unlocking it all the time.

Yes all our units are compatable with the stock controller in fact we even strogly suggest having and tuning mods you may have had done to the trans returned to stock and from there only play with the shift times , In most peoples case with stalls beloow 3500 thats not even nessesary the stock tune works perfectly , Our trans were designed to work prefectly with the stock pcm and tuning as a bolt in
