question about stock shifter???

Default question about stock shifter???
What are all the things going to the shifter for?
I notice one cable going to the steering wheel/
also a electrical conection
and of course I know what the cable going to the trans does.

the one going to the wheel is going to the ignition lock for park the electrical is the neutral/park starter switch

I dunno dude, I have never seen an aftermarket shifter in an LS1 Fbody
