Default What exacly is it?

I searched and I honestly couldnt find a clear cut answer. I even searched jegs and summit for it and I cant find anything. What is a trans break, where do i find them, and how do they work. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I had to ask. Thanks

Ok a trans brake is simply a device that locks two oposing gear sets in oposite directions so nether can move effecivley stopping the car from moving

you push the transbrake button and it locks the trans you can then take the RPMs up to the true stall speed,then you release the transbrake and floor it and hold on.Here are some vids of cars with them

for a 4L60E, only Rossler currently makes a trans brake

a trans brake is NOT comparable to line lock.

a trans brake won't allow the tires to spin, as opposing gears (R and 1st) and engaged simultaneously..

whereas line lock simply locks the front tires (using the brakes, nothing to do with the transmission) and allows the back tires to spin freely, mostly for burnouts. my experience with line lock is that it's good for burnouts, bad for the start line...a car on slicks will push the front tires if only line lock is used to hold the car at the beams.

would the slp line lock do the same thing basically.

NO.Its no way like a line lock.I line lock would be the same as having your foot on the break stalling it up just like you already do.....
