Default Questions on Tranny push, on start up.

Every now and then I will get in the car and fire it up, and as I do so, the car will move forward a few inches, and then settle back down to its original position,

Is this me just being paranoid, or is there something wrong with the tranny?

The car has 91000, I am getting ready to install a ss3600 tomorrow. I did not purchase a shift kit, just the stall and cooler. Is that okay? Or should I invest in one???

I get that also, be calm You can engage the emergency brake before you start the car, it will help to resist the push.

well with the torque increase at low speeds you will get a shift kit may help extend the life of the trans so may be a good idea as long as the trans is in good shape to begin with . But on the other hand they can decrease the life of a trans allready on its last legs
