Default iam sooooo sick of my 4l60e

i guess i am too hard on my car. i blew the 2-4 band a couple months ago,(probably too much spray). so i had it rebuilt. upgraded the servo, better clutch kit, shift kit, and high energy bands. it only lasted me two months on my stock z28. now it has a unuaslly soft shift from 1 to 2, 2nd revs up to about 3600 and then decides to catch. im really sick of pulling this trans and wasting more money. what the hell should i do now? i spent just about all my cash to get this rebuilt. i didnt even get to spray it.

not really a select few, a good number of shops can rebuild a 4l60e to last. The OP took his trans to some shitty builder. Find a good builder and you wont be sick of your 4l60e.

the guy i had rebuild is very reputable in my area. i am gonna call him tomm. i am not sure whats wrong though. i got in it this mornig and it shifts fine until it warms up. once its warm, the 1-2 shift is really really soft, second slips pretty good, and 3-4 are fine. maybe this is something else. a solonoid or something? i just dont wanna take it back out again. any ideas?

I've seen the pressure control solenoid do that before. Its kind of hard to say without seeing exactly what its doing. Probably the best thing to do is to take it back to your trans man, especially if its under warranty.

Maybe you have sticky 1-2 accumulator valve in the valve body. He should know what this is if he is familiar with these transmissions. I would have him check it. Vince

By the way how much was the trans?

wasn't bad? he spent maybe $300 in parts. the shift kit runs around $100, a beast sunshell is $50, and who knows if he even got it. that's not going to make your trans much stronger. it's not providing any better lubrication or cooling. were the accumulator pistons and springs replaced so it'll hold better rpms? probably not. and what is this "upgraded servo"? a lot of shops will sell you a corvette servo. corvette servos came in our transmissions STOCK. your 4L60E blew because it wasn't any stronger now than it was when it was stock get a real shop to build it and you'll have better luck.

this was a quite reputable shopthat built it. i noticed a huge difference as soon as i put it in. i feel kind stupid saying this but i went over everything today and realized there was too much fluid. i took a little out and now i cant get the it to do the same problem again. i wonder if thats all it was. i will say though when i have more than just nitrous and looking to get into more serious times, i will be getting a much stronger trans, prolly from FLT. i was very impressed with there work. hopefully this one will get me by for a while.
