Default Converter or trans? Please Help!!!!

First here is the setup. H\C , Vigilante 3600 stall, RPM stage V 4L60E. Stall and trans bought used. Stall is on its second restall from PI, and the trans has less than 3000 miles on it.

Just finished tuning the car, spent all day doing 2nd to 3rd pulls on the car. Car was running PERFECT. Shifts were spot on. Let the car cool down and then started driving it home. Cruising around 55mph, and all of the sudden the rpm's start shooting up and the car was dragging. To me it seemed like it was slipping. The converter was in lockup when this happened.
From a stop the car seems to stall a little higher than before, but the shifts from 1st to 2nd are perfect, then when it is time to shift into 3rd it just free revs. Then it does the same thing in 4th as well. The converter no longer will lockup at any speed. The fluid is full, smells a bit burned but not to bad. There is not any warning lights on.
Have not done any WOT pulls since this happened.
Is it possible that the converter just blew out or is this a trans problem.

Rodney from RPM please chime in, or anyone else please offer guidance.

Thanks,
Jimmy
