Default Transmission slipping

I have a fully built transmission and it just stared slipping tonight.. I checked the fluid and it looked ok, a little low.. would this cause it to slip any? imma change it tomorrow and see if that helps. if it doesnt, is there anything I can do to fix this before it gets any worse.. it just slips when you get on it in 3rd gear and overdrive

Ya one of your clutch packs are prob burnt up

Is it expensive to replace the clutch packs, I am having the same problem with my girlfriends car, when you get on it in second gear it slips and it bounces off the rev limiter, and wont shift till you let off the gas.

basically any shop that looks at it will want to do a complete rebuild , And probably rightly so if theres alot of miles on it but in any case the parts are not the big cost but all the labor and there as much labor involved in replacing the 3-4 clutch set really as building the unit

mine was just rebuilt in jan of 06, but I went with a stock rebuild and hoping I could get another 100k miles out of it. guess its time for the Z packs and all the goodies

Sometimes a transmission fluid change will help, but not often. The reason is if the fluid is dark it is due to debris from the clutches deteriorating. So the fluid condition is the result of internal damage.

So it appears the there may be more to it unfortunately.
