what transmission for LS swap? I'm doing a ls1 swap into a third gen firebird. The engine I will be acquiring is sans transmission. The 700R4s are cheap and plentiful, but some people regard them as a PIA when it comes to tuning. Should I just shell out the extra couple hundred bucks for a 4l60E or 4l80E from a place like Bowtieoverdrives? Or what are people's thoughts on the 700r4?
