Default Installed new 4L60E and clunkc clunk clunk

Looks like the piece of the converter (Vig3600) that the bolt goes into (flexplate and converter join) is hitting something in the bellhouse..

I crank it over and I hear a clunking, lifted it up and you can see paint coming off the outmost part of the converter (at the edges where the bolt goes) , so it looks like something is wrong , either converter is too big or bell housing is too small , but just by a tiny bit

Anyone experience this? Sound like a big problem or just manufacturing tolerances not tight enough?

I'm pulling the tranny AGAIN tomorrow to check it out more

is this occuring when your bolting down the tc to the flywheel and rotating the engine by hand?

i'll be checking that out tomorrow when I pull it down again, I didn't notice it occuring by hand but I can only spin the flexplate about 2 RPM lol

If I hookup a remote starter to it, not as loud (since it's not hitting as often) but you can hear something hitting

Ive never seen a converter hit a bellhousing. Most aftermarket converters are smaller. Make sure you dont have a bracket pinched in between the bellhousing and block.

all I have to say is f***ing ARP Torque Converter bolts!

I have a TCI flexplate... torque converter bolts are too tall! (washer and head) so they were hitting on the inside... put OEM back ina nd all fixed!
