I had this same problem when doing mine, What I did was dropped the tranny about two to three inches, and then with a pair or Angled plyers, kinda like the spark plug wires. Push up and get a small jewel flat head screwdriver and pop in there and pull outward. Thats how I ended up getting mine done. It took a little coaxing and a lot of cuss words. But it came out.
Good luck

Yea, you are going to have to let the tranny hang... you all ready have the dipstick unbolted form the back of the head. HAve a buddy pull up on the tube while you are down under the car pushin up on the tube.. It took me damn near 6 hours to do it by myself and would have been helpfull if I had an extra set of hands.

only took me five minutes when I used the screwdriver method. But you have to be extremely carefull not to mess up the bottom of the tube. As long as you can see the end of the tube but can' quiet get it over the lip then try my method. Thats if you feel confident enough
