Default Converter noises

Should a new converter make any noise if you shake it around? I just noticed that one we are using will rattle a good bit if you shake it.

The internals of the converter are centered on the pump stator , So when the converter is not on the pump it will rattle

I would suggest putting a 1/2qt to a quart of dexron fluid in that tc before the installation. It is never a good idea to dry fire a torque converter. Good luck with the new stall. Vince

Thanks for the advice. I put about a quart in it and no problems.
