Torque converter noise?
I dont know if it is but it sounds like its coming from that general area...
I have always kinda heard a sort of whooshing noise like someone rubbing two pieces of paper together whenever I was on the throttle in the lower RPMs but the exhaust noise would overpower it so I would never know if it was higher up too. The noise would also go away when the car went into lockup. It sounds almost like maybe there is a leaf or something between the converter and the flexplate.
So yesterday I had to do some exhaust work.. in the end the car was basically left to catless with some clamps holding it together.. but the exhaust is obviously leaking (its a temp fix as I wait for my new cats because I blew out one of the ones I have now) so now I hear another noise.. a more chattery noise that starts around 1500 rpms and is present in lockup as well.
I almomst assumed it was just the exhaust because it was poorly put back together but its not present in park.. only when driving.
Any ideas?

well the first noise that sounded like paper being rubbed together was only in non lock-up.. the second noise i describe that just started happening occurs at all times
