do not even consider any form of the 4L60E transmission at that power level IMO... no matter who builds it. if you want a solid overdrive trans, that you dont have to worry about every time you mash the loud pedal... get into a built 4L80E... no questions. I would personally call Finish Line Transmissions for their lvl 4 or lvl 5 4L80E... its held up behind some wicked combos and abuse... finishlinetrans.com Chuck and Vince will take care of you.

I didnt think I said anything contrary to anything you said before... I just dont think there's anyone's 4L60/65E out there that can handle that kind of power, not even mine to tell you the truth, and IMO its the best that money can buy... I just dont... thats my opinion... if I were building anything in that power range, I'd look straight at a 'glide... or, for overdrive, a heavily built 4L80E

Well it is an expensive and involved change over , shorter drive shaft , different yoke, move cross memeber, relocate toque bar, new converter, reflash PCM to a truck set up , rewire harness for a 4L80E . The 4l80e is a tough trans, but you probably would want a built one with the upgrades and a shift kit (we do not presently carry the 4l80e)
But I will agree with him at that HP level it probably is your best choice other than a TH400 with a gear vendors unit which would cost even more , But there is no inexpensive solution when you start getting into numbers that high,
Or you could continue using top level 4l60e transmissions but there life span would be limited depending on your driving habits, But looking at your sig your car is very close to crossing that line between PERFORMANCE STREET and PURE STRIP

I have units holding up to 800-850HP, but at 1,000HP, it is not going to happen. The cheapest way out of this (by far) is to back off on the boost to get it down to a more reasonable 800-850HP max, then the 4L60E could do the job somewhat reasonably. This you could do this for a lot less expenditure. Otherwise you are looking at serious money here, for a TH400 with torque converter, & gear vendors, or a built 4L80E with torque converter. It all depends on what you want to achieve?
