Default Perfomabuilt Stage 2 Transmission + 4000 stall Question

Well I guess the question I have is what should the 2-3 shift feel like? the 1-2 is very firm, but not agressive, and to me the 2-3 shift feels sloppy. I just installed the trans yesterday and when accelerating not quite at WOT but just accelerating quickly, when it makes the 2-3 shift it just doesn't feel right.

I don't want to have to park my baby anymore. I want to make sure it is working perfectly.

Possible problems
1. stall - don't really know why it would make the 2-3 shift wierd, but I did get a fresh rebuild before I put it in the new tranny.

2. HPE tune - possibly something in the tune is not right. I trust HPE they seem to know what they are doing, but it is possible. Everyone has a Monday every now and then

3. tranny - just bought it and installed it last night.

If there is anything else that you could imagine that could cause this let me know.

Hell I may just be paranoid and it might be shifting perfectly. I just think that the 2-3 shift at near WOT is kind of sluggish. Is this normal for it to not be so firm?

I really would like to lean to the tune. The car shifts excellent under normal driving, but when accelerating it seems kind of "off". I guess I'll swing by HPE sometime this week to have them take a look at it.

Well of course I cant feel it myself but , The 2-3 shift will never be as solid as the 1-2 shift it should be there and not slide in or anything but may not feel as solid , Then the 4000 stall depending on how tight it is would additionally hide alot of the feel. If your going to your tuner have them lock the converter during the 2-3 shift once and see what the shift time and feel is , But generally I would say if you can make a WOT 2-3 shift without hitting the rev limiter and If the tuning is ok then everything is fine,

Yes but our converters are quite tight which can make a huge difference

I think it was a temperature thing. I only felt it one time. Then I put like 200 miles on it and did a WOT run and it felt really good. Thanks performabuilt and thanks fuddle for everything!

May have been but also bear in mind that the frictions do need to wear in a little also , once they do the hold much more solid,Thats why we say drive around normally for at least a day before really getting on it , But glad its doing good for you
