Default Not trying to sound like a noob...

Ive always wondered this, not a noob by any means but how come I see some auto fbodies with 1 2 3 D. Then some others like mine only have 2 D on my 97? Not a big tranny man so be easy on me, I know the right stuff just not all the stuff

Cars with the performance axle ratio had 1 2 3 D and if you did not have the performance axle you could not manually select first gear.
Its a simple and easy way to tell a 3.23 car from a 2.73 car.
If they are stock that is.
