2800 stall not enough???
I found a good deal on a 2800 stall, but was wondering if any of you guys have run a stall like this, and if so is it worth it to even put it in or should i just save my money and go for something larger. I'm definitely looking for et here (any ideas of how much et i should pick up?) but do not plan on doing a cam or heads in the near future. any and all input is appreciated. thanks in advance for your help.

Well its better than stock and if its in good condition from a reputable brand go for it.
Who made it?
Just remember the labor you will have to pay (or go through) changing it out in the future will cancel out any savings you made getting a cheaper one to start with. I went with what I wanted the first time and don't regret it.

I persoally went with a performabuilt custom mjade 9.5 inch one with a 3ks tall. im running heads/cam and was gonna go with a 2800 myself but it would ahve costed the same as a 3k so i jsut stepped it up to the 3k.
I dont think you will be disappointed. everyone wills hove a big stall down your throat here which sucks. they claim driveability is great but it depends on how you define that. my best advice is find someone in your area with a stall and have them drive you around and see what you can take.

thanks guys, its actually a custom built 2800 from a local shop that many of my friends use to build converters for their race applications, so i trust their work, plus they stand behind it as well. a guy ordered it and never picked it up so they want to get rid of it. they only want $350 for it so that's why i figured it was a good deal.

I wouldn't buy it. I have a 3500 stall and my buddy has a 3000. We have both driven and raced each others car. And we both agree that my stall is much better. His car doesn't feel that much tighter then mine but it hits way softer on the launch (talking at the track with drag radials).
I would get at least a 3,200 stall for any LS1 but that's just my opinion.
