Best 4L60E rebuild kit available?
My trans, with just under 10,000 miles, is VERY LAZY. The 2-3 shift is incredibly slow. It's time for a rebuild, and I have the labor paid for on the rebuild. All I need is a good rebuild kit! What's working best? Hughes? Pro Built? Any information would be great. I would like to see this one last at least another 10,000 miles...with a cam AND heads.

I had Dana at Pro Built build my trans. If you just buy parts and build it yourself it won't be the same. Cause he has to do custom porting, fitting, and drilling of the valve body. BTW I have 441rwhp/481rwt without any problems so far. Many WOTs, and 15 passes.

Thanks for the tip pedaltothemetal. I'm not doing the rebuild myself. I'm having it done by a trans specialist, but the labor is "paid for". There's this guy at a dealership...I'll leave it at that.
Thanks for the link George, but I've heard some mixed reviews on the Level 10 stuff. I think I'm going to give the Alto stuff a try. www.altousa.com There are quite a few that highly recommend it, so it's worth a try. I'm only out the cost of parts, so I'm already slightly ahead.
Thanks for the responses guys!

Go to www.transmissioncenter.net. Click on high performance applications. That should get you started. Just be sure about the guy building your tranny. I've been living a horror story on mine. Ended up ordering an SLP tranny.

Louis - Yep, it's going to be rebuilt next week. I'll be in Lubbock again then, so I'll be able to kill two birds with one stone. I CANNOT give up anything at the shootout!
Tim - I've had a TH350, and it SUCKED. This car is going to remain a true street car, so I'm not willing to give up lockup or OD. I'll eventually give Century Automotive's built 200-4R a shot. Mike Kurtz is AWESOME with the rebuilds. I'm going to be out next to no money on this rebuild, so it's definitely worth my while.

Re: Best 4L60E rebuild kit available?
I bought the Pro-built kit and did it myself (guess you don't have to worry about that, and not my first tranny, I might add)
FYI for others...While I'm sure Dana does not tell people ALL his tricks, he gives enough up to help you do a great job. This tranny has a ton of passes on it now and WHO KNOWS how many WOT runs. Not bad for less than $500....
