Default 3600 or 3800 stall

I am getting a new torque converter, what would be the better bet for a mostly street driven car. Keep in mind I will be getting the TSP Magic Stick 4 as well. I am looking at a Yank Converter, what would you recommend the 3600 or 3800 stall, or maybe larger. And should I go single disk, triple disk, or 5 disk, I am new to this whole transmission thing so I appologize now for my stupidity.

I have Vig 3800 and I wouldnt have minded to go bigger. I was suprized on how nice it drives, not loose at all and hits nice and hard when I smash it

what are your future plans with that car? any nitrous? i dont really think Yank has disc options. you just chose the line that best suits you. either stall sounds good. you wont notice a big difference between the two, but if you plan to throw nitrous on it I'd stay with the 3600

TSP magic stick is a pretty big cam that will want a bigger stall. I would go with the Yank SS4000. I think that stall could give you good NA performance as well as being able to handle some N20 down the road if you ever wanted it.

I am not interested in Nitrous at all, I want to stay away from that. So far in the works will be the cam and stall. Eventually down the road though I would like to get some heads and we will see from there.

My first converter was a SS3600 on a basically stock WS6. I was surprised how well it drove. It was really close to stock in normal driving. If you pulled out easy the tranny would shift through the gear and then the converter lock up, then it drove normal. If your one of those who pulls out of every light like your at the drag strip, then it might feel loose.

yeah with the ms4 i would go with a yank ss4000. that will make you get the most out of your cam and if you ever decide to throw some spray on, ull be fine up to around 150 with that stall. so my vote is 4000 with a trans cooler!!!!

i went with a SS3600 it is good for dd but to get the best out of your setup i would think the 4000 would be nice for N/A . I wish i would of gone bigger but i ended up addicted on the spray..lol I hit mine with a 150 shot often and at the track and its held up fine for 2 yrs. good luck

yeah that cam needs alittle bigger stall. of the 2, get the 3800. other wise a 4000 stall or bigger would be better yet.

Yank SS4000. A friend of mine had an MS3 and a 3500 stall and it really didn't get into the power till 4000+, now he has a Yank SS4000 and plans to spray a small shot

shoot dave or mike at yank an email or pm. they will recommend something based on your setup. I have an MS3 and they suggested a ss4000, thats what I have now, works great.
