Performabuilt Lv.2 Installed..... Finally!
Well guys I finally got my lvl.2 700r4 installed in my '90 silverado that I did the
carbed LS6 conversion in. I've only driven it up and down the road a couple of
times to try and get my T.V. cable adjusted but so far I am pleased with the
feel. I went with their 9.5" 3000 stall and I think I made the right choice. Will
report back as I put some miles on it. Thanks guys.

Well I drove the truck around a little this afternoon. So far I am happy with the way it
feels. The only issue I've had is after a spirited 1-2-3-4 manual run thru the gears, when
I stopped and started off again it didn't want to shift out of 1st. Had to stop, run the
selector to 1 and manually shift it to make it want to shift on its own again. This only
happened once on my way home. It may just be because I've been driving my ext. cab
truck but this thing feels faster than my gto did. Performabuilt, please chime in on what
you think might have caused it to stick that time.
Thanks.

Thats unussual the shifts are all contolled by the PCM and manual shifting should have made no difference as it only allows you to hold gears down. Not cause and upshift. There is the possibility I personally have run into that some of the assembly jell had not melted but that would only be if it had never been hot. Other than that I could not think of any mechanical reason that could cause that , But very glad your happy with it and that its working well. If it does that again let me know and we will figure it out the only way it can stay in first is if both the solenoids are comanded on by the PCM .Have you had any tuning done for the stall yet ?

properly, no pcm on these. Like I said, it only did it once, after I had been driving
a while. If it does it anymore I'll keep you informed, but see if any of your guys
might know why it would do it.

Ah ok 700R4 most likley some jell from the build got in the TV bleed orifice and made the TV stick a little . Should be nothing to worry about its very unlikley to happen again . I have seen this happen on the 700R4 a few times shortly after the build and before the trans got really hot to melt it . The jell for assembly is like really thick vasaline and it dosent travel though holes to well sometimes till it completely melts and is aborbed into the fluild.

Just got back from running it down the road again. When I first left out it didn't want to
shaift again. Stopped, ran the selecter D-3-2-1-2-3-D and eased on out and it shifted
fine. Stopped and started several times on about a 20 min. drive and it didn't do it again.
Will give it some time to see if it is some assembly lube or something else causing it to
stick. It should limber up the more I drive it, right?
