transmission shifts into P/R/N/D/321 but doesnt move
electrical problem? or mechanical
i put an ls1 into a jeep wrangler w/ a 4l60e. i bought an aftermarket wiring harness that was made for the 4l60e
when i turn the engine on and then shift into reverse, it doesnt move. nor in drive 3,2 or 1
is this a mechanical problem or electrical

While the shifter cable is possible I am assuming you can het it out of park and it will roll and you have checked that the arm on trans is moving , I would be more likley to think you have a broken pump. Unhook a cooler line and start the engine, does any fluild spray out?

you can feel it clicking in the trans whenever you shift, linkage isnt broken. it was leaking a little from one of the trans cooler lines(which i tightened up) soo im guessing the pump is fine also
does the computer have to receive something from a switch in order for it to work???

no if you have no movement and the fluild is pumping (I would still check that) And your full of fluild,You have a trans mechanical problem or if its a 4x4 possibly a transfer case problem. To check for a transfer case problem start place in reverse then back into park do you hear a chattering sound loudly?

Well the first thing is still to do the fluild test , And also if its a 4x4 theres the possibility of a transfer case issue to test for that place truck in reverse then back to park and listen for a racteting noise, But honestly short of a pump failure I can think of many things that would cause one to no move at all in any direction, If you want to check other things give me a call and ill see if I can help you track down what the issue is for sure anyway.

Likley didnt get the converter in all the way , It happens frequently . Most common instalation mistake other than not pluging in the harness and the VSS. Though years ago I did have a guy call me and said his truck wouldnt move after install , I ask him how much fluid he put in it and he replied "you mean the fluid dosent come already in there?"

you would be better taking the tranny to a shop and let a professional handle it if the pump went out you will have metal all in the VB and throughout the tranny.....plus a pump has to be aligned with a alignment band or the case of the tranny there is just a few technical steps to this just cant pop a pump into it and go...again there will be metal in the vb and if it locks up the shift valves well you may have an unwanted transbrake that doesnt release with a button
